The Current Building has been in use since 1959. Before that, The High School was located on Barron Avenue.  You have to recall at the time, There was no Colonia, or JFK High schools, So Students from Colonia, Avenel, Iselin, & Menlo Park Terrace  were also students of WHS. Seeing, that there was a huge growth in population (baby-boomer era)  Woodbridge school district officials had no choice but build a larger school to occupy several thousand students. In 1967, Colonia High School was built and Kennedy Memorial High school was built in the 1970's to alleviate some of the overcrowding.

Woodbridge Senior High School is presently located off of St. Georges avenue, in Woodbridge Proper. Grades 9 - 12 are held here. The population of students hail from The Woodbridge Proper, Sewaren, Port Reading, Fords, Keasbey, & Hopelawn Sections of Woodbridge Township.

Up until 2000, The daily schedule consisted of a Homeroom period, Then 8 -45 minute classroom periods from 7:50 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Now, all district high schools are in an experimental phase of the "block scheduling" concept. There are 4 - 90 minute periods that last half the school year. The last half of the school year, The student's subjects change, similar to a college schedule.
